    Licensing

Apportioned licensing for a new carrier or add-on units require much paperwork. We make it simple and easy for you. Titles are handled in conjunction with the licensing. We “walk” our paperwork into the IRP offices each day (sometimes twice) In order to expedite licensing for your units in due haste. Supplemental applications (add-on or transferred units) will be issued a “temporary” license permit from our office in order to begin immediate operations. This “temporary” is a courtesy allowed by the state and is only for a few days. Lost tags, etc. handled in the same manner. See (*) notation below concerning the term “Licensing.”

(*) NOTE: We use the term “Licensing” as referring to Vehicle License Registrations. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration refers to “Licensing” as obtaining proper Operating Authority to transport in interstate commerce on a “For-Hire” basis. This sometimes causes confusion, but the “License” to operate For-Hire is in actuality a “Contract Permit” or “Common Carrier Authority” - previously called an “ICC AUTHORITY.” You are still assigned an “MC” number by the Feds, but this will later be phased out. At this time your U.S. DOT Number is paramount and must be displayed on the sides of your power units.
